Housekeeping Assistant--Part Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for cleaning Residents' rooms and residence common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, disinfecting, etc. Discards waste into proper containers, replaces light bulbs and assists with any general housekeeping duties necessary.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
A. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The ability to maintain a clean and neat environment is required. Knowledge of cleaning practices and substances is required. The ability to identify cleaning needs and safety hazards is required. The ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing is required. Requires frequent lifting, bending, stretching, kneeling and standing for extended periods of time.
B. Education
High school graduate, GED or active registry status on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry is required.
C. Experience
Previous housekeeping experience in a health care or hospitality setting is preferred.
D. Certificate/Licenses
None required.
Waitstaff - Part Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing dining room for meals by setting tables, folding napkins, filling water glasses, providing and refilling condiments. Assists in food preparation as needed. Serves meals to Residents in a courteous and professional manner and clears dishes from tables to kitchen. Removes soiled linens from tables and cleans and straightens dining room after meals.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
A. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires the knowledge of proper table setting and serving and the ability to follow such procedures. The ability to provide menu selection to Residents, follow individual dietary restrictions and take accurate orders is essential. Requires the ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. Requires frequent heavy lifting, standing for extensive periods of time, bending, stooping and stretching.
B. Education
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
C. Experience
Six months to one year prior experience in food service or waiting is preferred.
D. Certificates/Licenses
None required.
Resident Care Assistants - Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist Residents with daily life functions such as bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, etc. Assist in ambulation of Residents to and from activities, dining room and other locations as needed.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
A. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to provide quality assistance to Residents in a professional and caring manner is required. The ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing is required. Requires frequent lifting of Residents, bending, stretching, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
B. Education
High school graduate, GED or active registry status on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry is required.
C. Experience
Prior experience in the care of elderly is preferred.
D. Certificates/Licenses
Home Health Care or Certified Nurses Aide certificate is preferred. CPR or first aid certificates preferred.
Memory Care Program Coordinator - Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
Ensures an environment that encourages resident self-determination, dignity and preservation of life skills and abilities. Plans, provides and directs staff to provide meaningful, life-skill based activities for older adults with limited attention abilities and memory impairment. Identifies and meets needs of Residents at various stages of memory impairment, and contributes to the support plan of Residents in the Memory Care Program. Obtains needed supplies for activities. Orients staff regarding the program offered in the Memory Care Program.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
A. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The ability to develop, organize and implement an activities program that enhances the lives of residents in the Memory Care Program is required. The ability to direct program staff is required. Should have knowledge of therapeutic recreational techniques. Must be able to interact positively with outside organizations and develop good community relations. Creativity and motivational skills essential. The ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing is essential. Requires frequent bending, stretching, stooping and lifting.
B. Education
A bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or LPN is preferred. High school graduate, GED or active registry status on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry is required.
C. Experience
A minimum of one year of experience in the recreational or occupational therapy assistant field or a minimum of three years experience providing direct care required. Consideration will be given to candidates with experience with direct care responsibilities in special needs population, developmental or educational field.
D. Certificates/Licenses
CTRS / COTA / LPN preferred. A valid Pennsylvania driver's license is required with no more than two moving violations in a three-year period as determined by insurance industry standards.
