Senior Leadership Team
Chief Executive Officer
Prior to co-founding IntegraCare, Rick was the President of National Health Management, Inc. (NHM) from 1994 through 1999. NHM was one of the early pioneers in the Assisted Living industry and one of the founding companies of ALFA (Assisted Living Federation of America). Prior to joining NHM, he spent nine years as Executive Vice President of National Development Corporation, the parent company of NHM. Rick was involved in NHM's Assisted Living program from its inception in 1985 through 1999. He has developed over 1,200 units of Assisted Living. Also, on behalf of hospital clients, he has developed four Assisted Living communities, two Medical Office buildings, an Administrative Headquarters, four Parking Garages, two Research facilities and an Outpatient Services Center. In addition to his experience in the Assisted Living industry, Rick has 15 years of experience in real estate, construction and capital formation.
Mr. Irwin served as a Director and member of the Audit and Finance Committee of the Visiting Nurses Association, the largest home health agency in Western Pennsylvania, a United Way agency. He was a member of the Board of Directors of ALFA (Assisted Living Federation of America), the industry’s national trade organization, from January 1994 thru January 2000. Mr. Irwin also served for three years as a member of the five person Task Force preparing The Assisted Living Industry Overview, published by Coopers/Lybrand and The Assisted Living Federation of America. This document is considered the definitive publication reporting the status of the Assisted Living industry. He is also Vice Chairman of Youth Guidance Incorporated, a United Way agency serving at risk youth. Mr. Irwin and Ms. Putzier have been nominated for Western Pennsylvania’s 2003 Entrepreneur of Year Award.
Mr. Irwin graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
President & Chief Operating Officer
Ms. Putzier is a founder of IntegraCare. As President & Chief Operating Officer of IntegraCare, Loriann leads the Operations; Sales and Marketing; Human Resources and Organizational Development; Risk Management; and financial performance of the communities. She is also responsible for the development and implementation of all leadership initiatives, regulatory compliance, technological implementation, programmatic strategy and implementation, and quality and service improvements.
Prior to founding IntegraCare, Loriann joined National Health Management in March of 1993 as Vice President of Human Resources. In March 1995, she advanced to the position of Vice President of Corporate Operations and Human Resources. Her accomplishments in these positions include: the development and implementation of all human resources systems; the implementation of an innovative approach to workers’ compensation and risk management that resulted in a 50% reduction in cost; the introduction of numerous Executive Director Leadership initiatives; and the design and implementation of an organizational recruitment and tracking process.
In December 1996, Loriann was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President of Operations with responsibility for the overall, leadership, administration and performance for all NHM managed residences. She was responsible for the development and implementation of all revenue and cost strategies, establishing standards of care and related processes, labor planning and control, and staff development and training. She also developed systems to measure staff satisfaction, Resident satisfaction, and the effectiveness of Sales and Marketing efforts.
Before joining NHM, Loriann lead all human resource disciplines at both for profit and not for profit organizations, including Independence Blue Cross of Philadelphia. Ms. Putzier was honored in 2014 as one of five female Entrepreneurs in the Women in Business Award for Western Pennsylvania. Ms. Putzier and Mr. Irwin had two of their organization’s team members recognized nationally by the Assisted Living Federation of America’s 2013 and 2014 Hero Awards in the field of Senior Living, were finalists for the 2012 Pittsburgh Business Ethics Award and nominated for Western Pennsylvania’s 2003 Entrepreneur of Year Award. Under their leadership, IntegraCare has also received the People Do Matter Award and been a finalist in the Best Places to Work competition.
Loriann holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the E.W Scripps School of Journalism, Ohio University and an MBA from Robert Morris University. She is a member of the Assisted Living Federation of America Chief Operating Officer’s Round Table, Vistage, and has served on the Personnel Committee of and the Board of Directors for Southwinds and the Visiting Nurses Association, the largest home health agency in Western Pennsylvania.
