Life Stories Memory Care

One of the keys to the success of our Life Stories Memory Care program is our focus on each resident’s personal history.  We ask each family to complete a Life Story – a story that every staff member then learns as a way to help stir memories, build connections, and help the resident in everyday life.

A Caring Staff Brings Out The Best: After a daughter saw her 85-year old mother show dramatic improvement, she called our Life Stories program “one of the best decisions we have made with regards to Mom’s life.”

For a Proud Veteran, WWII Memories Connect: Our Work with Residents includes learning about the major events in their lives.  For one resident, sharing his experiences as a combat pilot was an important key to engagement.  Before long, every person on the staff knew about his adventures and loved sharing his stories with him.

No Longer Just Watching Life – He Lives It: One of our residents moved from a community where he simply sat all day, with little communication.  After just a few months in The Life Stories Memory Care Program, his wife was in tears to see him walking, interacting, and enjoying his life to the fullest.

What Sets Our Memory Care Program Apart

We provide the most individualized, personal care for our residents with memory impairing diseases such as Alzheimer’s or a related dementia.  Life StoriesTM Memory Care is a highly specialized program that caters to our residents’ specific needs.  We also offer enhanced care services to cater to our community members who require different levels of assistance.

Our Enriching programs and care provide mind-energizing and stimulating opportunities for all our residents.  Additionally, our secure grounds, emergency communication system, and our 24-hour staffing give family members’ peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in a safe setting.

Our Life Stories Memory Care Primary Objectives:

  • Provide opportunities for meaningful activities promoting quality of life.
  • Focus on remaining skills and abilities, and enhancing them where possible.
  • Create an environment that facilitates a sense of belonging.
  • Support positive behaviors and reduce risk of incidents from challenging behavior.
  • Offer experiences for both verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Provide opportunities for education and support for family members through our Life Stories Memory Care Support Groups

Our Little Extras

IntegraCare wishes to welcome all new residents and make them feel at home.  These are some of the distinctive touches that help our residents enjoy life in our community from their very first day.

Welcome Gift – Each resident receives a personalized welcome give basket upon arrival.

Community Pet Program – Our ‘house pet’ lives on site and is cared for by the community staff.  They’re known for bringing smiles with the wag of a tail!

Family and Friend Areas – We provide specific spaces throughout the community for visiting, socializing, and celebrating special events – large or small!  We want to encourage family and friends to visit as often as they wish, just like at home.

Reminiscence Screen – This is a wonderful way for residents to relive their golden years together.  When a resident joins us, we ask them to share family photos – especially older ones – so that we can incorporate their life and loved ones into our family, and help to get to know them even better.

Homemade Meals and Breads – Our skilled chefs make sure residents and their guests are happy whenever they sit down at the table.
