What a Senior Living Community often is …

What if…

…you could find the best of both worlds: a senior living community that takes the time to know your loved one, not as a patient nor a bundle of daily needs, but as a person with a vibrant past and ongoing interests?

That place…is our Life Stories Neighborhood.

Our Memory Care experts know each resident’s Life Story. They know each resident’s history, accomplishments, preferences and passions. They know how to interact with them, they respect the person they were, and they know how to connect and care for them.

How do we make this happen?

We talk with you and your loved one and learn about likes and dislikes, what they love to do, what they’ve accomplished, hobbies they enjoy, and even what their favorite foods are. We take the time to learn what makes them smile.

When the interview is complete we build a personalized, comprehensive Life Story for your loved one. Each story becomes an actionable guide for families, residents and caregivers.

We help your loved one thrive in an environment that recognizes what makes each resident an individual and knows how to apply their customized Life Story to their daily plan of care to keep them happy, active, engaged and healthy.

We invite family participation and provide opportunities for family education and support.

How does this work in practice?

“The caregivers at The Woods are terrific. Reception is always warm and caring. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the director and staff of Lifestories/Memory Care. They are devoted, caring, and very responsive to both the resident and resident’s family members.”

“This place is a gem. Mom was expected and welcomed! They made the move in as easy as could be. The employees make it special, they have true caring and compassion. The size is just right for ease of adjustment for someone starting to have some cognitive issues. The other residents also were so welcoming and thy look out for each other. Honestly like a family sharing a home. So well run it should be used as a model.”
