BUTLER, Pa. – Newhaven Court at Clearview will host an FBI Outreach Event on Thursday, Jan. 23 to raise awareness about elder fraud and scams, a growing concern as criminals increasingly target seniors for financial gain.
The 9 a.m. event will be held in the senior living community at 100 Newhaven Lane in Butler and is open to the public. Guests are encouraged to RSVP by calling 724.477.8701. A complimentary breakfast will be provided.
“Fraudsters often use manipulation and high-pressure tactics to exploit vulnerable seniors,” said Tracy Fencil, Community Relations Director at Newhaven Court at Clearview. “These scams come in many forms — fraudulent phone calls, emails, online schemes, or in-person solicitations. We’re grateful to the FBI for addressing this critical issue and are excited to host this event.”
The session will feature FBI experts offering insights into elder fraud schemes, highlighting how scammers prey on trust, isolation, and financial vulnerability. Attendees will learn to identify red flags, protect themselves and loved ones, and respond effectively if fraud is suspected.
“The information provided during this event can prevent crimes against some of our most vulnerable loved ones,” Fencil said.
