CLEARFIELD, Pa. – The Leonard Street Car and Bike Show will continue a spring tradition, as Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield hosts the 16th edition of the popular event that benefits the Alzheimer’s Association.
This year’s show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 17 at Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield senior living community located at 1300 Leonard Street.
“The car and bike show has become one of the signature events of the spring season in our area,” said Brittany Gearhart, Executive Operations Officer at Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield. “Every year, it brings together our residents, staff, families and vehicle enthusiasts for a day that’s filled with energy, excitement and community spirit.
“From classic cars to unique motorcycles, there’s an incredible variety of vehicles on display that people of all ages enjoy seeing,” Gearhart said. “Beyond the fun and nostalgia, what makes the event especially meaningful is the support it provides for an important cause.”
Last year, 44 vehicles participated in the Leonard Street Car and Bike Show, raising $1,645.25 for the Alzheimer’s Association. Based on records available since 2012, the event has raised a total of $17,109 over the past 12 shows.
Muscle cars, antique vehicles, trucks and motorcycles have participated in the show throughout the years.
The Leonard Street Car and Bike Show has raised more than $1,000 during each of the previous nine events, including an all-time high of $2,000 in 2019, when 73 vehicles in 20 classifications participated.
“The car and bike show supports a mission that resonates with so many families throughout our community,” said Joanie Taylor, Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield Administrative Services Director.
Taylor has been involved in all 16 Leonard Street Car and Bike Shows. She’s seen the fund-raiser evolve over the years, while maintaining and even growing its popularity.
The car and bike show even bounced back after a two-year interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
“Our residents look forward to this event every year,” Taylor said. “They love seeing the wide range of vehicles and hearing the stories behind them. I especially enjoy the classic cars that have been carefully preserved or fully restored over the years. It’s fun to see vehicles you normally wouldn’t come across in everyday life, and that’s part of what makes the show memorable.
“When the lot is filled with cars and motorcycles, with owners proudly showing off their engines and craftsmanship, it creates such a great environment,” Taylor added. “From the exhibitors to the spectators, the event brings people together and gives everyone something to enjoy.”
Registration for vehicles begins at 9 a.m. on May 17, with a $10 donation to the Alzheimer’s Association per entry.
Participants will receive dash plaques and have an opportunity to win door prizes throughout the day. Pre-registration is available until May 15 by emailing [email protected].
Food and beverages will be available, and those in attendance may participate in a raffle.
