EASTON, Md. – Candle Light Cove earned IntegraCare’s Gold Level Award for its prompt handling of residents’ callbell requests during the first quarter of 2026.
When a resident needs assistance, whether it’s for routine help or an emergency, they can push a pendant they carry on them. During the quarter, Candle Light Cove’s team responded in person to each call in an average of 1 minute, 49 seconds to attain Gold Level status for a second consecutive quarter.
“Every time a resident presses the callbell, it’s more than a request. It’s a moment of trust,” said Larry Rouvelas, CEO of IntegraCare, which operates Candle Light Cove. “Our role is to answer that call with urgency and compassion, because consistent, caring responses are what help residents feel safe, valued and supported each day.”
To reach the Gold Level, an IntegraCare community needs an Average Response Time under 3 minutes. To attain Silver, a community needs an Average Response Time under 4. IntegraCare operates 17 senior living communities in three states.
“When residents reach out through the callbell, they’re counting on us,” Rouvelas said. “By responding promptly and with compassion, responsive and kind, is what turns care into something residents truly can rely on.”
The community wants its families to know its callbell response performance. It posts on its website a daily update: Yesterday’s Callbell Response Times
