April 20 event to feature dignitaries, local marching band at The Residence at Fitz Farm.
YORK, Pa. – The Residence at Fitz Farm official Grand Opening Program will pay homage to the storied history of an iconic York County family farm while also peering toward a promising future in filling the needs of seniors throughout the region.
The Grand Opening Program will be held on April 20 at the IntegraCare-operated senior living community located at 2200 Springwood Road in York Township. Check-in for dignitaries and IntegraCare team members begins at 11 a.m. with the program set to start at approximately 11:45 a.m.
“For 20 years, IntegraCare has served Pennsylvania’s seniors with continuous innovation in wellness, hospitality and safety,” said IntegraCare CEO Larry Rouvelas. “We look forward to the next 20 years bringing it to York’s seniors. This grand opening program represents only the beginning of a great relationship between our IntegraCare team, seniors and their families throughout York.”
Pennsylvania State Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill, 28th District, York County, is among the dignitaries who will participate in the grand opening program.
“This new, state-of-the-art facility will provide a valuable option for our local seniors seeking top-notch amenities in a convenient location,” said Phillips-Hill. “I am grateful for the expansion into York County to provide this resource to our community.”
The Residence at Fitz Farm has 130 apartments of Independent Living, Personal Care and Memory Care. The 16.5-acre site of the new building is situated on land once farmed by four generations of the Fitz family, known throughout the region for harvesting produce such as strawberries and their specialty, white celery. The Fitz Family will be represented by Don Fitz during the event.
The four-story, 124,000 square foot senior living facility was constructed through a joint venture of IntegraCare and Avenue Development, which is headquartered in Indianapolis.
“The Residence at Fitz Farm will help meet the needs of seniors and their families throughout York County,” said York County President Commissioner Julie Wheeler, who will participate in the Grand Opening event. “The new senior living community is a state-of-the-art facility with strong ties to the historic Fitz Family Farm that served our county for more than a century.”
The senior living community features one- and two-bedroom units. Amenities include physical fitness and therapy areas, a beer rathskeller, a theater, hair salon, library, card room and a bistro.
“Our Grand Opening Program will provide another milestone during what has been an incredible year,” said Rick Barley, IntegraCare Vice President of Community Integration. “The construction of our community was visible to the many York residents who regularly drove on nearby I-83. People saw the progress and anticipated the opening of a community that will help fill a need for senior living housing in York County.”
The Dallastown Area Middle School Marching Band and the Craig Satchell Jazz & Swing Ensemble also will perform during the program.
“We are eager to showcase our community during the Grand Opening Program,” said Brandi Rendler, Executive Operations Officer at The Residence at Fitz Farm. “Our team has been working hard for months to prepare for this event and we are ready to improve the quality of life for seniors throughout the York region.”
