We have invested heavily in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), updated cleaning protocols, and altered operational procedures to address current & future potential public health issues. We also have invested in technology designed to deactivate airborne pathogens before they infect. Below is a description of some of the technologies that help make Bay Village a Great Place to Work, a Great Place to Live, and a Safer Place for All.

Located at the main entrance of our community, the Healthé Cleanse Portal utilizes FAR-UVC lighting to deactivate viruses present on skin, clothing, packages & other surfaces. Compared to regular UV light, FAR-UVC has a shorter wavelength and does not penetrate the skin or eyes making it safe for public exposure. All Residents, Visitors, and Team Members pass through the portal upon entering the building.

This system is designed for families, friends, thirdparty caregivers, and other vendors to sign into the community. At each entry, the sign-in tablet takes photos of visitors and third-party healthcare providers, allowing our leadership team to know who is in the community. A badge is also printed for easier identification.

When our residents encounter an emergency or a need a little help, our Emergency Call System alerts our care team immediately to their distress. This advanced system allows residents to call for assistance wherever they are in the community by utilizing a variety of alert devices like high risk stations in bed and bathrooms, wrist pendants and neck pendants. It will also tell the team where the resident is in the community for faster service.

Hearing loss is a common challenge for our residents. To combat this, our theater features a hearing-assistance system that connects to residents’ hearing devices to help them enjoy movies, programs, sports games and performances. For hearing aides that are blue tooth enabled the resident simply switches their devices to the telecoil program and they automatically receive clear customized sound right in the resident’s ear.

At the touch of a button, the automatic door opener gives a resident the ability to enter and exit their apartment easily while using a walker, wheelchair or cane. This system unlatches a locked door, then opens, pauses and closes it – all automatically.

STAT and The Inspired TEC® Clear™ by Inspired Tec: These purification technology units are used in common areas and each resident apartment. The Stat units are safe for people, pets, and plants. In addition to pathogens, pollen, mold spores, and odors are also neutralized. IT12000 by Inspired Tec: These units address pathogens both in the air and on surfaces. Viruses, pollen, mold, and bacteria are positively charged molecules. Molecules essential to a viruses’ or bacteria’s chemical activities can be disrupted or deactivated, making it impossible for them to replicate. The Inspired Tec units distribute negatively charged ions which bond to the positively charged pathogen molecules and render them inactive.

The Accushield kiosk is a smart system that replaces the paper sign-in logs at our entrance. Using facial recognition technology, it enhances and shortens the sign-in process. The device screens each guest by recording body temperature, and asking CDC-recommended COVID-19 screening questions for every staff member, visitor, and third-party caregiver who enters the community. The Accushield Integrated Touchless Thermometer instantly detects the body temperature of the person signing in and automatically passes the measurement to the kiosk during the sign-in process.
