CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Magnolias of Chambersburg earned IntegraCare’s Gold Level Award for its prompt handling of residents’ callbell requests during the fourth quarter of 2024.
When a resident needs assistance, whether it’s for routine help or an emergency, they can push a pendant they carry on them. During the quarter, the Magnolias of Chambersburg team responded in person to each call in an average of 1 minute, 18 seconds to attain Gold Level status for a fifth consecutive quarter.
The callbell systems handle more than potential crisis situations. The callbell also is the residents’ connection to the team for assistance with more routine needs.
“Callbells aren’t just about emergencies,” said Larry Rouvelas, CEO of IntegraCare. “They are for a wide variety of daily needs ranging from dressing, moving from place to place, or even getting a glass of water. We encourage our residents to ring the callbell when they need us.”
“Magnolias of Chambersburg assisted living and personal care residents rang the callbell 31 times per day, on average, and the team answered those calls quickly and reliably,” Rouvelas said. “IntegraCare communities offer an enjoyable quality of life, and when you need help, we’ll be there for you. Few things deliver on that promise more vividly than, when a resident pushes a call button for help, that we respond quickly and reliably. It’s about resident safety. And it’s about resident respect.”
A recent U.S. News & World Report survey highlighted this commitment to respect and responsiveness. As part of its annual Best of Senior Living recognition, the renowned publication gathered insights from residents and family members across 3,500 senior living communities nationwide, including 17 IntegraCare communities. Their feedback underscored the dedication to quality care and the peace of mind that comes from knowing help is always within reach.
“Magnolias of Chambersburg is a safe haven for your loved one so you can sleep at night and have peace of mind 24 hours a day,” Lori, whose mother is a resident, said in the survey. “The community provides a lot of activities, many food options. It is a well-rounded establishment.”
“The atmosphere at Chambersburg is always warm and inviting,” added Therese, whose parent is a resident. “My family is reassured knowing that our loved one is in such good care. The sensitivity, kindness and love demonstrated by staff is genuinely heartfelt and cannot be overstated.”
The community wants its families to know its callbell response performance. So, it posts on its website a daily update: Yesterday’s Callbell Response Times.
