What a Senior Living Community often is …

What if…

…you could find the best of both worlds: a senior living community that takes the time to know your loved one, not as a patient nor a bundle of daily needs, but as a person with a vibrant past and ongoing interests?

That place…is our Life Stories Neighborhood.

Our Memory Care experts know each resident’s Life Story. They know each resident’s history, accomplishments, preferences and passions. They know how to interact with them, they respect the person they were, and they know how to connect and care for them.

How do we make this happen?

We talk with you and your loved one and learn about likes and dislikes, what they love to do, what they’ve accomplished, hobbies they enjoy, and even what their favorite foods are. We take the time to learn what makes them smile.

When the interview is complete we build a personalized, comprehensive Life Story for your loved one. Each story becomes an actionable guide for families, residents and caregivers.

We help your loved one thrive in an environment that recognizes what makes each resident an individual and knows how to apply their customized Life Story to their daily plan of care to keep them happy, active, engaged and healthy.

We invite family participation and provide opportunities for family education and support.

How does this work in practice?

“I was no longer my father’s care giver. I was his daughter again and we enjoyed many hours together.”

“The biggest descion so far in my life as the power of attorney and Niece of my Aunt was making sure she had a place that would take care of all of her needs and that they would be met. I wanted a well run facility with activities, incredible staff, nurses and doctors, good food, housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance, and in my Aunt’s case a great hair dresser. My Aunt never had children of her own. She worked hard her whole life taking care of others, as a seamstress in a factory and awning
company, at the same time selling insurance and annuities for the FCSLA for many years. Her most important duties however was her babysitting duties. She has always helped out all of her nieces, nephews, and their children as her own. She so deserves to be where she can continue doing all of the activities she enjoyed at home. This is definitely the place to be if you also feel as I do in placing your loved one(s) in a facility that does all of the above. Debra Potts retired RN “

“My uncle moved into this community just after Christmas last year. He was coming from a skilled care facility that he really liked, so he was skeptical. Newhaven Court made him feel at home immediately. His children were nervous because he is an extremely picky eater. The food service director met with him and his family and came up with a plan for meals if he didn’t like the choices. The staff made him feel welcome from the very first day. The other residents around him welcomed him, also. Including the resident next door and her dog! Newhaven has gone far above and beyond to make all of us feel right at home.”
