Residents, Families, and Local Vendors Celebrate Festive Day
QUEENSTOWN, Maryland – The Queenstown Landing team’s inaugural Fall Festival combined the charm of a small-town fair and the warmth of a family reunion.
Residents of the senior living community, their families, team members and vendors celebrated the autumn season while forging a special connection.
“An absolutely perfect autumn day. Not a cloud in the blue sky and weather in the 70s made it ideal for this farmer’s market-style event,” said Kathy Stanfield, Community Relations Director at Queenstown Landing. “It was lovely. I’m so glad we held this event outdoors in our adorable courtyard, and the weather behaved.”
Stanfield and Queenstown Landing team members decorated the courtyard with colorful mums, pumpkins and fall-themed garlands and wreaths for the late October event.
Queenstown Landing Community Relations Director Kathy Stanfield helped organize the community’s Fall Festival.
“Five wonderful vendors joined us in the courtyard, setting up along our path to create a lively, welcoming marketplace,” Stanfield said. “Their loyal customers and followers turned out as well, which gave us a fantastic crowd.”
“We had a beautiful array of offerings: Bohemian Studio brought handcrafted jams, sauces, pickles, and spices, while Refill Goodness featured eco-friendly cleaning and personal products,” she said. “Silver Octopus showcased unique, stunning rings, and local artist Thomas Yates displayed his intricate driftwood carvings. Our Avon representative had an adorable table filled with Halloween goodies, lotions, and makeup. There was something special for everyone.”
Queenstown Landing Executive Operations Officer Wendy Traff-Barrow appreciated the effort involved in organizing the Fall Festival. The solid turnout made an impression.
“The Fall Festival provided us a great opportunity to mingle with residents and their family members in a relaxed environment,” Traff-Barrow said. “Seeing all of the happy faces in our vibrant community made quite an impression.”

The Queenstown Landing Dining Experience team served fall treats such as pumpkin muffins with cream cheese frosting, apple turnovers, lemon zest cookies and candy apple punch. The Fall Festival even had games, activities and prizes for youngsters in attendance.
The Fall Festival provided the Queenstown Landing team some momentum heading into the next community event. “We will hold our Holiday Market early in December,” Stanfield said. “We’re excited to celebrate under the holiday lights at Queenstown Landing.”
