Senior Living Community invites families to tour renovated neighborhood, meet staff alongside co-host Pinnacle Hospice

CAMP HILL, Pa. — The Woods at Cedar Run senior living community will open its doors to the public Feb. 27 for a special Memory Care Open House celebrating the grand re-opening of its newly upgraded LifeStories Memory Care Neighborhood.

Co-hosted by Pinnacle Hospice, the event will highlight recent renovations and enhancements designed to create a brighter, more welcoming and supportive environment for residents living with memory loss. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the neighborhood, meet team members and enjoy light refreshments and beverages.

The LifeStories Memory Care Neighborhood can accommodate 18 residents.

Rachel Leanza, Community Relations Director at The Woods at Cedar Run, said the setting and atmosphere make the neighborhood especially meaningful for residents and their families.

“Our property is nestled on a beautiful lot, and residents enjoy a pleasant sunroom and renovated patio space with views of the stream, trees and even geese and deer in the backyard,” Leanza said. “The natural light and lighter colors from the renovation create a positive daily experience and a peaceful place to call home.”

Executive Operations Officer Jennifer Kipe praised the leadership of LifeStories Director Tasha Smith within the memory care neighborhood. Leanza said Smith’s dedication is evident on multiple fronts.

“Our residents benefit tremendously from Tasha’s empathy, compassion and patience,” Leanza said. “She has coordinated family support groups, empathy trainings for staff and so much more. Some of our longest-tenured team members serve in memory care, which speaks volumes about the heart within this neighborhood.”

The renovations reflect the community’s ongoing commitment to person-centered care.

“Our goal in LifeStories is to honor each resident’s journey while creating moments of connection, comfort, and joy every day,” Leanza said. “The updates to our neighborhood enhance the warmth and calm our residents deserve, and we are excited to welcome families and community members to experience it firsthand.”

As a smaller neighborhood within the community, the LifeStories fosters close relationships and individualized attention. Residents are encouraged to participate in broader community activities as they are able, helping them remain engaged and connected.

Kipe said the open house will be both a celebration and an invitation.

“We are proud of the thoughtful renovations and the dedicated team who bring our LifeStories Memory Care Neighborhood to life each day,” Kipe said. “This open house is a wonderful opportunity for families and community members to see the care, compassion and sense of home that define memory care at The Woods at Cedar Run.”
