Seniors waited only 2-minutes, 42-seconds, on average, for an in-person response
TYRONE, Pa. – When senior living residents press their callbell, the team at Colonial Courtyard at Tyrone answers quickly and consistently.
How quickly? 2 minutes, 42 seconds. That’s the average time it took for a caregiver to respond in-person during the fourth quarter in 2023.
This strong performance earned the Colonial Courtyard team Silver Level Achievement for callbell responses from IntegraCare, which manages this personal care home along with 16 others, mostly in Pennsylvania.
The community is led by Dawn Karlheim, Executive Operations Officer. “Answering the callbell each time a resident is in need goes a long way in making our residents feel safe and secure,” Karlheim said. “Knowing that their callbells are being answered in an efficient and reliable manner provides them a peace of mind. It shows the dedication of my entire team.”
Karlheim appreciates the recognition, but said it’s simply a part of the job.
“A senior living community should be beautiful, yes. But more importantly, when you need help it should be there for you, quickly and reliably,” said Larry Rouvelas, IntegraCare’s Chief Executive Officer. “The seniors living at Colonial Courtyard at Tyrone get that every day. When they ring, a caregiver typically arrives in-person in less time than a television commercial break lasts.”
