Our memory care program, known as “Life Stories”, is designed to provide a safe, warm, inviting, and dignified environment conducive to the emotional, spiritual, and social satisfaction of our residents. We focus on each resident’s life story, using this information to manage conversations and activities that the resident is receptive to. This approach allows us to create an environment that facilitates a sense of belonging and provides opportunities for meaningful activities that improve the quality of life.
For instance, if a resident was an accountant in their earlier life, we might give them a pile of invoices to “help” with. This not only keeps them engaged but also makes them feel useful and happy, providing familiarity in a world that may be becoming increasingly unfamiliar.
At Hunters Woods at Trails Edge, we also recognize that memory loss has many phases. To cater to these varying needs, we offer the concept of Memory Care levels. This concept involves having two different memory support neighborhoods within our memory care living and activity spaces. One neighborhood provides programming for those who are beginning to experience the earlier stages of memory loss, while the second offers more enhanced support services and programming for those residents who may be more advanced in their memory challenges.
Our memory care community is equipped with a secure, private entry, a centrally located kitchen island, comfortable resident seating areas, a bright dining room with a garden view, and a casual living area featuring a Finch Aviary. We also have a shaded, secure patio and a memory-stimulating reminiscence screen. Our enriching programs and care provide mind-energizing and stimulating opportunities for all our residents.
We understand the importance of physical surroundings in enhancing the well-being of our residents. Our community features an art studio, an art exhibition gallery, outdoor terraces, a game room, a library and computer center, and a dedicated physical therapy center with licensed therapists. We also have in-ground and raised garden beds for our residents who enjoy gardening.
At IntegraCare, we believe that our residents should not only be safe and cared for but also engaged and thriving. Our team of certified nursing assistants fosters our residents’ independence, individuality, and dignity. They develop close relationships with each of our residents, which forms the foundation for the highest standard of care.
