CAMP HILL, Pa. – For most of the afternoon on May 13, Joyce Serrano’s shift as a dining experience server at The Woods at Cedar Run senior living community unfolded like any other workday. Then came a life-changing surprise.

Serrano’s name was randomly selected from 39,262 raffle entries in IntegraCare’s 2025-26 Continued Attendance Rewards (CAR) Program, earning the New Cumberland, Pa., resident the keys to a brand-new 2026 Nissan Kicks SV All-Wheel Drive vehicle.

“I was completely shocked when they called my name,” said Joyce Serrano, 23, who was inside the community preparing to serve dinner to the residents and had to be summoned to the outdoors announcement after her name was drawn.

“At first, it didn’t even feel real. I think it took me a couple of hours before everything finally sank in and I realized I had actually won a new car,” said Serrano, who has been part of The Woods’ team for four years. “I’ve always tried to be dependable and show up for our residents and my co-workers every day, but I never imagined something like this would happen to me.”

Since 2016, IntegraCare’s CAR Program has recognized employees with perfect attendance, as one fortunate team member drove away in a new car.

“It’s often said that what an organization chooses to recognize speaks volumes about its culture,” said IntegraCare CEO Larry Rouvelas. “Exceptional senior living communities are built by dependable team members who consistently show up for residents and co-workers alike. They are the people others can rely on every day, every shift. The CAR Program is about honoring those dedicated individuals whose commitment helps our communities thrive.”

The car winner announcement highlighted celebrations held across 16 IntegraCare senior living communities in three states.

“The CAR Program remains one of the most anticipated and rewarding events of the year for our team members,” said Shannon Joyce, IntegraCare’s Director of Human Resources and Risk Management. “It’s a unique opportunity where simply demonstrating reliability and commitment to your job can lead to life-changing rewards, including a brand-new vehicle and other major prizes.

“Reliable transportation can make a tremendous difference in someone’s personal and professional life,” Joyce added. “We’re proud to continue offering a program that recognizes dedication in such a meaningful and impactful way.”

A total of 856 different IntegraCare team members earned at least one entry in the drawing, based on their receiving a raffle ticket for each perfect week of attendance throughout 2025. Thirty-nine IntegraCare team members had perfect attendance for the entire year.

IntegraCare has given away a vehicle as part of its innovative CAR Program every year since the first contest was held in 2016 (based on 2015 attendance). The inaugural contest kicked off in impressive fashion, as IntegraCare presented a new car to a lucky team member at eight different senior living communities it operated back then.

The contest, like IntegraCare, has grown since 2015-16. Team members earn raffle tickets for each week of perfect attendance accumulated throughout the year. Those tickets are collected at each community and are included in the overall drawing.

In addition to the new car, IntegraCare also presents grand prizes and other giveaways at its communities located in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. The car giveaway event is live-streamed on IntegraCare’s Facebook page and promoted on individual communities’ social media platforms. The live stream generated more than 3,400 views and 75 comments by those watching the 18-minute video.

Each of the 16 IntegraCare communities participating in the 2026 CAR Program awarded three big-ticket items to team members who had perfect attendance vouchers. Those prizes included a Ninja Slushie machine, Ray-Ban Meta Glasses and a Smart TV.

On the day of the car giveaway, Joyce and Mackenzie McCarthy, IntegraCare Director of Team Member Experience and Engagement, secretly drove to The Woods at Cedar Run, as team members throughout IntegraCare watched the live stream, excitedly bantering on the live chat, while hoping to see the new car pull up to their community.

IntegraCare’s CAR Program has had a strong impact on attendance, with a significant number of team members achieving perfect attendance throughout the program’s history:
