Senior living community holds program to thank those who served

CLEARFIELD, Pa. – Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield recently held a Veterans Day event to show appreciation to the senior living community’s residents who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
“We believe it is important to honor the men and women who have so bravely served and sacrificed for our country,” said Sandy English, Director of Sales and Marketing at Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield. “We wanted to have a special gathering for our residents in recognition of Veteran’s Day.”
The Veterans Honor Guard of the Clearfield American Legion Post 6 and Clearfield VFW Post 1785 provided a 21-gun salute and a bugler performed Taps.
The event began with the reading of a poem and it concluded with a prayer for all those who have served the nation. Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield presented each veteran resident a plaque in honor of their service.
“Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield says a big thank you to all of our Veterans who served as well as those around the world who have served or are still serving for our country,” English said. “We also thank the staff who helped make the event possible.”
