‘Spring Mainstay’ Leonard Street Car and Bike Show to Celebrate 15th Event
CLEARFIELD, Pa. – The Leonard Street Car and Bike Show will celebrate a milestone as Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield hosts the 15th edition of the popular event that benefits the Alzheimer’s Association.
This year’s show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 18 at Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield senior living community located at 1300 Leonard Street.
“The car and bike show means so much to our region. It truly is a spring mainstay,” said Brittany Gearhart, Executive Operations Officer at Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield. “It’s an exciting time for our residents and our team as well as car and bike enthusiasts.
“So many different vehicles, both four- and two-wheeled, from decades past are on display on our lot,” Gearhart said. “It’s really something to see. And, most important, this event raises funds for such a great cause.”
Last year, 64 vehicles participated in the Leonard Street Car and Bike Show, raising $1,526 for the Alzheimer’s Association. Since 2012, the event has raised a total of $15,464 over 11 shows. Muscle cars, antique vehicles, trucks and motorcycles have participated in the show throughout the years. The Leonard Street Car and Bike Show has raised more than $1,000 during each of the previous eight events, including an all-time high of $2,000 in 2019, when 73 vehicles in 20 classifications participated.
“The car and bike show is an event benefitting a cause that affects a lot of people personally,” said Joanie Taylor, Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield Administrative Services Director.
Taylor has been involved in all 15 Leonard Street Car and Bike Shows. She’s seen the fund-raiser evolve over the years, while maintaining and even growing its popularity. The car and bike show even bounced back after a two-year interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
“Our residents really appreciate and love this show,” Taylor said. “They enjoy seeing all of the different eras of vehicles. Personally, I like seeing the older cars and how people have taken care of them or restored them. I like to see the cars that you don’t have an opportunity to see on the road every day. I think that makes it special.”
“The atmosphere — with cars and bikes lined up, hoods open and engines on display — it really attracts a crowd,” Taylor added. “Whether it’s the owners of the cars or the people who come to the show, everybody seems to enjoy it.”
Registration for vehicles begins at 9 a.m. on May 18, with a $10 donation per entry.
Participants will receive dash plaques and have an opportunity to win door prizes throughout the day. Pre-registration is available until May 15 by emailing jtaylor@integracare.com.
Food and beverages will be available, and those in attendance may participate in a raffle.
