Newhaven Court at Lindwood team attains 100% vaccination rate
GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania — The dedicated team at IntegraCare is accustomed to giving 100% while caring for its residents. Now, 100% has taken on a new meaning at IntegraCare’s 13 senior living communities in three states.
Newhaven Court at Lindwood has attained a 100% COVID-19 vaccination rate among its team members and has earned a certificate of recognition signed by IntegraCare CEO Larry Rouvelas.
“We take the safety and well-being of our team and our residents very seriously,” said Rouvelas, who made IntegraCare a leader in the industry as among the first to make employee vaccinations mandatory during the COVID-19 pandemic. “We are proud of our team for getting vaccinated to protect not only themselves but also our residents. IntegraCare is a great place to work, a great place to live, and now is a safer place for all.”
To ensure that team members and residents have access to vaccinations in the future, IntegraCare will work with Johnson Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., whose experienced pharmacists and technicians are leaders in the long-term care pharmacy model.
“Our continued focus is on vaccination of our staff and our residents as well as expanding visitation opportunities for our families and residents both inside and outside,” said Putzier, President and co-founder of IntegraCare.
Newhaven Court at Lindwood Executive Operations Officer Lori Grant said her team put the health and safety of the residents as a priority when considering the vaccine.
“We are extremely proud to accomplish this goal,” Grant said. “As a provider, we do not have control as to what happens outside of our doors, but with the vaccine, we have control as to what happens inside with our efforts to keep our residents and team members safe.
“We want Newhaven Court at Lindwood to be a safe place to live and a safe place to work,” Grant said. “With our team members being vaccinated, we are able to accomplish this mission and eliminate the fear of being extremely ill or bringing the virus home to our families.”
Grant said IntegraCare stressed the educational aspect of vaccinations to team members throughout the 13 senior living communities operated by the Pittsburgh-based company.
“We provided a lot of education to our team members about the COVID-19 vaccine,” Grant said. “Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation and myths about the vaccine on the news and social media. The information we obtained to educate our team members was information from legitimate sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Health.
“Once we provided factual information about the vaccine and the reason why 100% community vaccination is so critical for the safety of our residents, we were able to help our team members make the best decision. It is about protecting others and the community at large.”
Attaining a 100% vaccination rate brings hope to the community, Grant said.
“Knowing our team members are vaccinated, we are protecting one another and keeping our community safe and healthy,” Grant said. “It is beyond protecting our team members, it is also protecting their families as well.”
