Residents’ Calls Answered on Average in 1 Minute, 54 Seconds
GLEN MILLS, Pa. – Glen Mills Senior Living’s prompt handling of callbells earned it IntegraCare’s Silver Level Award in the second quarter in 2024.
When a resident needs assistance, whether it’s for routine help or an emergency, they can push a pendant they carry on them. During the quarter, Glen Mills Senior Living’s team responded in person to each call in an average of 1 minute, 54 seconds.
“Why is this so important? When a resident moves into assisted living or personal care, we make a core promise,” said Larry Rouvelas, CEO of IntegraCare, which operates Glen Mills Senior Living. “Yes, we’ll offer an enjoyable quality of life, and when you need help, we’ll be there for you. Glen Mills Senior Living Executive Operations Officer Deven Boland compared the callbell to a resident’s lifeline.
“Our commitment to our residents is their safety and well-being,” Boland said. “We tell our team callbells are a form of communication. We have residents who are not able to walk, or get out of bed. Some residents might be non-verbal or have difficulty speaking. The callbell is basically like a lifeline. They are reaching out for help and we need to be there in a timely manner when the callbell rings.”
