Seniors waited only 1-minute, 36-seconds, on average, for an in-person response
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – As Executive Operations Officer, Kristine Wenrick stresses to her Magnolias of Chambersburg team that the callbell system is a senior living resident’s lifeline to quality care.
“Answering quickly and reliably has been the standard at Chambersburg,” Wenrick said. “Every single time a resident calls, that means they need you. That’s a responsibility we take very seriously. The callbell is their connection to us and to assistance.”
Magnolias of Chambersburg literally has answered the call – in 1 minute, 36 seconds. That’s the average time it took for a caregiver to respond during the fourth quarter in 2023.
This strong performance earned Magnolias of Chambersburg Gold Level Achievement for callbell responses from IntegraCare, which manages this personal care home along with 16 others, mostly in Pennsylvania.
“A senior living community should be beautiful, yes. But more importantly, when you need help it should be there for you, quickly and reliably.” said Larry Rouvelas, IntegraCare’s Chief Executive Officer. “The seniors living at Magnolias of Chambersburg get that every day. When they ring, a caregiver typically arrives in-person in less time than a television commercial break lasts.”
“Great care is built upon a capable team and strong systems. Magnolias of Chambersburg has both,” Rouvelas added.
EOO Wenrick leads the community, and Amy Martenas is its Resident Wellness Director.
“We had 228 calls in a seven-day span, and our response time was under 2 minutes on each call,” Wenrick said. “When I joined the team at Magnolias, my expectation was and remains that callbells be answered within 30 seconds. My managers know this. They answer when our residents call.”
Pauline McMullen, a Resident Wellness Associate at Magnolias, echoed that commitment. “The residents are important,”McMullen said. “They are our family.”
